As our business continues to grow so does our need for great engineers.  We’re looking for an EIT to join our team!  At Newcastle, we believe it is important for our engineers to have a well-rounded knowledge of the work we do.  As a result, your primary role as an EIT is to do a variety of duties including design work, surveying, field reviews, and engineering to gain exposure to all aspects of the business with the aim of becoming a registered professional engineer.

Our Ideal Candidate
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
  • Experience in a civil engineering environment is preferred (e.g., work terms while in school or co-op experience).
  • Experience with AutoCAD or Civil 3D is an asset.
  • Experience in municipal infrastructure design or construction is an asset.
Your Work With Us
  • Prepares design drawings and calculations under the supervision of the Engineer of Record.
  • Administers and inspects projects to ensure that works are in conformance with the contract documents, approved plans, and specifications.
  • Liaises and coordinates with various approval authorities, consultants, and contractors with respect to on-site project activities.
  • Records and maintains daily field review reports and journals complete with photos and field test reports.
  • Field reviews the installation of underground utilities (e.g., storm, sanitary, water, etc.).
