Melissa was born in Richmond but raised in Nanaimo from a young age. Following a love of the outdoors, she pursued a degree in Forest Operations and Engineering from the University of British Columbia, allowing her to practice as both a Professional Engineer and Registered Professional Forester. Melissa has spent the last fifteen years consulting in the natural resources industries, specifically the forest industry, specializing in design and construction of resource sector infrastructure. She has also spent time working as a Sessional Instructor at Vancouver Island University teaching Forest Management. Melissa’s love and understanding of the natural world drives her passion for designing impactful solutions that work with nature.
When not at work, Melissa enjoys spending time with her husband and her four sons. She loves to read, camp, ski, hike, spend times with friends, and stay active through fitness classes.
