Newcastle Engineering was engaged by Tectonica Management Inc. to complete a water service upgrade for the Central Nanaimo Urgent and Primary Care Centre in Nanaimo, BC. The 3-storey, approximately 16,000 sq ft healthcare building required upgraded servicing to support a new fire suppression system.
With limited site area, we designed a combined domestic and fire water service sized to meet required fire flows. The team also specified a sump jet assembly to drain the water meter chamber without a storm sewer connection or electrical supply.
The result was a coordinated servicing solution that met fire flow, chamber drainage, parkade access, and permitting requirements within a six-month project timeline.
